KWUA Assignor Application: Application
KWUA Members and Friends,
Thank you all for another great season of umpiring fastball in Waterloo Region. Thanks to all of your hard work and desire to succeed, the KWUA continues to offer a high quality of umpiring to the games played in the region. I am constantly hearing comments from teams that are thankful for the quality we provice, especially after they play in other areas of the province. Our 2011 annual fall meeting was held on October 27th, as part of the meeting the 2012 executive and board of directors was elected. As a result of the election Trevor Topping (vice president) and Matt Allen (Secretary) will be joining myself, Barry Parrott (Treasurer), and Steve Kuhl (Past-President) on the executive. I would like to thank departing executive members Kelly-Jo Murphy and Murray Ariss for their service to the KWUA. Both were valued members of the executive and will be missed. The KWUA board of directors also elected six liaison officers to the board of directors including returning liaison officers Tim Whitelaw, Mike Brito, and Rick Boyd along with new members Shawn Dekker, Guenther Kozak, and Justin Sayers. I would also like to thank departing board member Paul Verheye for his years of service on the board. Paul has been UIC for numerous tournaments over the last few years along with performing his normal duties as a liaison officer.
The meeting also featured numerous lively discussions about business issues that will lead to some changes on how this association is run. The executive is here to represent the members, so it is important that these discussions occur at meetings to inform the executive of the direction to take the the association in the future. To see the topics of discussion at the meeting click here. If anyone has any further suggestions and comments about the minutes or anything else that occurs within the KWUA please let me know and I will make sure that the executive discusses it at a future meeting.
Finally the KWUA is reviewing the assignors position this year after Carsons two years of service concluded. Part of this review is asking for any individual interested in being the assignor to fill out the application posted above and send it to me by November 20th. Please email me with any questions you may have about the position.
Thank you all for an excellent season. I hope everyone has a safe winter and I look forward to seeing you all in the Spring.
Yours Truly,
Andrew Clark, KWUA President
